Easy DIY Lip Balm

You are going to love this lip balm! It smells so good and feels so good on dry lips! Plus, the ingredients are all-natural it’s so easy to make!

For easy clean-up, I use a glass measuring cup with an open handle and a spout.  Add all the ingredients (except the essential oils) to the measuring cup.  Then simply hang the measuring cup on the side of a small pot with water and you have a double boiler!  Just make sure there isn’t too much water in the pot; you don’t want water in your lip balm mixture!

After the mixture has melted and you’ve removed it from the heat and added your essential oils, you can pour the mixture straight from the mixing cup spout into the lip balm tubes. I found this easier than trying to use a funnel.

Keep in mind that citrus oils like Lime and Grapefruit are photosensitive, so use different oils if you plan to be in the sunshine.

Easy DIY Lip Balm

  • 10 drops Young Living Grapefruit essential oil (buy here)

  1. In a double boiler on the stove, melt together all ingredients except the essential oils. The beeswax pellets will take the longest to melt. Stir frequently.
  2. Once the mix is completely melted, remove from heat and stir in the essential oils.
  3. Moving quickly, pour the mixture into lip balm tubes.
  4. Place on the counter or in the fridge to set.
  5. Apply to lips, smile, enjoy, and repeat!
  6. Note: Lime and Grapefruit oils are photosensitive and shouldn’t be used if you plan to be in the sunshine. You can always substitute a non-citrus oil like Lavender or Peppermint instead.
